Such a lovely tribute - every picture captured that wonderful smile. I've always associated Christmas Eve with Uncle Louise and loved all those photos. It was great to have hosted a few while we were in East Hanover and he stopped by for a few. Love you Uncle Louis and God Bless your soul. May you be at peace with our loved ones now. Love, Donna Libretti Cooke

A genuine!y kind human being who brought a smile to your face without him even saying a word. I enjoyed coffee and conversation with him once in a while at the end of a long day. RIP Lou ! My condolences to his family and his dear friends.

How Louis obtained the nickname "Floogie" is beyond me, but that endeared us all Madisonians to him.
Louis was on the Madison football team and this is how I first came to know him.
It is all true that Louis was a gentle and kind human being.
I surely will miss seeing him about town and in Florham Park, where he was living with his Sister and her family.
R.I.P. friend.

Condolences to Teri, Laura, and Pat.
I always remember Louis at our Christmas eve parties. He waited patiently for the serving of the calimari and agli e olio. He would cover the pasta with the calimari and move to a quiet spot to eat and enjoy. Great memory.
Sorry we can't be with you during this sorrowful time.
Gerry and Mary Lbretti.

Louis was one of a kind. Although cousins by marriage, we also both had a deep love for our faith. So we often saw each other at a daily or Sunday mass before we moved out of NJ. He always gave me a hug and asked how we were all doing. But once our son passed ( whom used to give me the biggest hugs and just lift me off the ground. ) and once Louis found out that little tidbit, it was no longer just a big hug. Each and every hug from there on in was a hug that lifted me right off the ground, as he also totally lifted my spirits too. God knows how you’ll be missed Louis and thank you for all your hugs and love throughout the years.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Louie. I’ve known Lou since high school. He was the nicest guy anyone could ever want to meet, bar none. We had a lot of laughs together playing softball, and just hanging around town by the Nautilus Diner many nights. I will always remember you Lou. Thanks for all the smiles you put on my face throughout the years.

My deepest sympathy to Louis's family. Lou worked as a custodian at my school for many years. He was a true gentleman with a huge smile and an even bigger heart. May he rest in peace.

Louie just wanted to say thank you for all the good times and memories we shared.
My most favorite was when the Myrtle Avenue football team that you started would play neighboring neighborhoods. You would pack up your little red wagon with first aid supplies, drinks and snacks for us the team I remember it like it was yesterday Louie , Flugie. Thanks for all Yesterdays. Love, Danny .

My deepest sympathy to Pat, Theresa, and all of Lou's family. I am heartbroken to hear of Lou's passing. I had the privilege and honor of knowing him my entire life. I loved him like family. Lou wasn't one of the best, he was the best. Not an unkind bone in his body. A good man, a great friend, a special person. Lou could make you feel better just by his presence, no matter how bad you felt. I can still hear that hardy" Louis" laugh. Lou had no idea what a positive affect he had on others. I will miss you terribly my old friend, but I know I'll see you again. You will never be far from my heart and prayers. Rest well, Lou. I love you, buddy.

Louie was without a doubt one of the kindest souls. An icon in Madison, who was loved by ALL! He asked for nothing, yet gave so much to all he called "friends". Our hearts are sad, but comforted, knowing he is at peace.
We'll never forget you "Flugie"...
