Our deepest condolences to the Ellis family. What a life she had! I have fond memories of Christmas shopping with Bernard for Gerri's holiday gifts and enjoying the fruits of her entertaining labor and witty humor passed down to Bernard and his siblings. I'll be thinking of you this weekend as you celebrate her life. I wish I could be with you in person.

I was saddened to read about Mrs. Ellis' passing. For my one year at Madison High School, I became a friend of Pierre, Richard and Natalie ~~ and met Bernard. When I would visit their home, Mrs. Ellis was always kind and friendly when she'd greet me at the door. This is a fine tribute to an amazing woman. Thank you for sharing. I also lived on Maple Avenue in Madison and often babysat for Pierre, Richard, and Natalie when they were very young. They won’t remember me, but I do remember them and their lovely and beautiful mother. It was such a wonderful experience to learn there were two more Ellis children and grandchildren and great grandchildren and all of Mrs. Ellis’s educational and career accomplishments. How wonderful for her family that she lived a long life and enjoyed so much. Jean McCarthy Graham
