My condolences to you, Mary, and your family in this time of great loss. Of all of Nino’s friends and relatives, your husband was the one who always stuck in my mind. He was a true gentleman and very gracious every time I saw him. I am sure he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Your family will be in my prayers.

The Olive Garden saying, "When you're here, you're family" comes to mind. Don't worry Ma, your cooking is far superior. I always felt welcome to the table, even for holidays and special occasions. It set a good example and taught me to appreciate the opportunity to gather with friends and loved ones.
The Picone household was always bustling with guests and Mr. Picone always seemed to enjoy the company. Even when Anthony's bands were practicing in the basement. We'd be there all days of the week, to all hours, but were never told to quiet down or leave. Mr. Picone would just sit in his easy chair watching tv, or even sleeping through what most would consider chaos. He was so laid back and carefree. His example will serve me well as I try not to sweat the small things in life.
I will never forget the 4th of July parties. Who could? (Well minus the beer lapses) I didn't miss one for several decades straight. The Picone's put a lot of work (hard work) and love into those gatherings. Rain or shine, brutal heat or a beautiful day, they were always ready for the crowd. Thank you!
Thank you for your service in the Army during the Korean War as well.
One last thought, I remember his garden. I didn't look to me like a big space, but in a good year it seemed like he was pulling out endless beautiful, fresh produce. Ma always knew how to serve it up just right. Delicious!
I will keep you all in my prayers.
Rest In Peace Mr. Picone
