Obituary of Christopher J. Ball, II
Christopher Joseph Ball II, a longtime Madison resident, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at age 69. Chris’ charismatic personality, kindness and good heart will always be remembered by those who knew him.
Chris was born in Youngstown, OH on January 20, 1949 to the late George and Rose Ball. He was raised in Union, NJ and earned his BA degree from Villanova University in 1971. He had a long career in finance with PNC Bank and several other banking firms prior to that, where he was a talented customer service manager. Chris had a great personality a special way with people, which suited him well throughout his long career. He was witty and had an excellent sense of humor, while still maintaining sensibility. Later in life, Chris made a career change and became a customer service manager at Nordstrom’s Department Store in Short Hills. He built many strong friendships with both colleagues and customers alike.
Chris enjoyed fishing, golf, bowling and was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved the NY Yankees, Dallas Cowboys and any Villanova University sport.
Chris was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Edward Connors. He is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie Ball (nee Connors); his cherished daughter, Ashley Kronmiller and her husband, Dan of Philadelphia; two brother-in-laws, Gregory Connors and his wife, Marianne & Peter Connors and his wife, Diane; nine nieces and nephews; four grand-nieces, and a lifetime of good friends.
A funeral service led by Rev. Msgr. George Hundt will begin at 9:30AM on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, with a visitation held to celebrate Chris’ life following the service from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. Interment will be held at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison.
