Buddy Firriolo was a giant among men. He had a heart as big as the sky. He was kind, generous and had compassion for those around him who needed assistance. He could not say no to anyone who asked for help. He would give you the shirt off his back and never ask for anything in return. He was a role model of patience and endurance - he would never give up, whether helping a neighbor, or working on a difficult project. We had the good fortune of being his neighbor for many years. The things he did for our family can only be described as overwhelming. He taught my Dad and I more about life than any book you can read. He set a daily example of brotherhood that will remain with me for a lifetime. My life has been enriched by knowing this great man. I can only hope and pray that the Lord has a need for a loyal handyman up in Heaven. Buddy, thank you for the example you set for all of us here on earth. I remember as a little kid, watching Buddy and my father working on different projects in our backyards in Queens (we were neighbors). Then when they would have to get things from one another backyards, they would hop the fence almost in unison. They seemed like superheroes to me. When I visit my home in Queens, I always look across the fence and remember. Remember everything. Buddy will be missed, but his memory lives on. Sleep in Peace.

I remember the first time I met Buddy and Jo, at one of the Goodwin's famous backyard BBQs. The smile on his face immediately melted my heart! ❤️ And watching the feisty, yet loving interaction between Jo and Buddy...you just don't see that very much any more. Jo, I'm so sorry for your loss. I will probably never experience the loss of such a true and forever love as you. My thoughts and prayers and love are with you, always. To the entire Goodwin family, you're such a close knit and loving family. I know this is a difficult loss for you as well. I pray you find peace in Gods love, in each other and in family and friends.
