Obituary of Daniel G. Fitzgerald

Mr. Daniel G. Fitzgerald, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 80. Born and raised in Tuckahoe, NY, Daniel raised his family there before moving to Madison over 20 years ago. Daniel was Vice President of Facilities at Pershing in Florham Park for many years before retiring in 2002. He was instrumental in the development of both their Florham Park and Jersey City locations. Daniel was a communicant of St. Thomas More RC Church in Convent Station. Before moving to Madison he served a period of 30 years as an active member of the Fire Patrol Company for the town of Eastchester, NY and he brought joy to many children during the Christmas season for two decades, acting as the Santa Claus for the Irish-American Club of Westchester, NY. Daniel was also an avid NY Yankees and Giants fan. He is predeceased by his first wife, Virginia Fitzgerald, his parents, Daniel Sr. and Marguerite Fitzgerald, and his sister, Rita Cirillo. He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Fitzgerald (nee Trabuscio) of Madison; three daughters, from his first wife, Kathleen Vernazza of Tuckahoe, NY, and her husband Mark, Caroline Thompson of Pound Ridge, NY, and her husband Brian, and Kelly Correia of Bedford, NY, and her husband Derek; his brother-in-law, Vincent Cirillo of NY, and seven beloved grandchildren. A funeral service for Daniel will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 6:00PM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at the funeral home. All may gather at the funeral home at 9:30AM on Wednesday before taking leave for Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Donations may be made in Daniel's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
