Obituary of Joan C. Huffine

Joan Christine Huffine, of East Hanover, born April 27, 1953 and passed away January 20, 2025 surrounded by her beloved daughter Rachel Anne Huffine and her siblings.

Joan grew up in East Hanover, NJ and graduated with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics from Trenton State. She married the love of her life Phillip Taylor Huffine on August 29th, 1981, who predeceased her on August 31, 2014.

Joan’s career at AT&T and TM Forum focused on product and service systems development, but her true passion was her tutoring business. She tutored high school students for many years and her favorite subjects were Algebra and Geometry. Her other passions were playing golf, being with her puppy Mo Mo, and traveling the world with her daughter.

Her memory will live on with her only child Rachel and her siblings: Pat, Jack, Dan, Tom, Janet, Ann, Jimmy, and her many cherished nieces and nephews. Joan is also survived by her mother Ann Riordan Buckelew.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to the memorial service for Joan held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 70 Maple Avenue, Morristown, NJ followed by a reception at the Stirling Tavern, 150 South Street, Morristown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, Joan and her family have requested donations be made to either Social Tees NYC or the Los Angeles Humane Society
