We are heartbroken to hear of this sad news. Mike has been a staple at many, many train shows where we would socialize with Mike and Linda. Often we would see them at the same restaurant during the TCA York Shows. We bought many American Flyer items that were in excellent condition and often quite rare. He was an excellent salesman. Mike was like a second grandfather to our grandson, Logan. He always would ask about him if he was unable to join us at a show and had soul-to-soul discussions with him when he did. Mike saw him grow up over his 13 years and always insisted he study hard, do his schoolwork and keep model trains second!! We will find it hard not to see him at our usual shows this year. Condolences to Linda, his son and family.

I was heartbroken to hear about Mike’s passing. He wasn’t just another American Flyer dealer; he was a friend and such an important part of our community. My late father Jay and I bought a lot from Mike over the years. He had an incredible eye for quality, and his name was synonymous with the best of the best in American Flyer.
But what really stood out about Mike was the kind of person he was. He always had time for a conversation, always cared about fellow Flyer collectors, and always made you feel like you were part of something bigger. He wasn’t just helping us build our collections; he was building relationships and memories that meant so much more.
He met my sister once at York and for years remembered her and asked how she was doing and sent his well wishes to her anytime I saw him.
I always remember him sitting reading his book sitting in a folding chair at the front of the ice cream sundae line at York. He and Linda were always first and second in line. I was third. It’s gonna be a lonely wait in line this April and moving forward :(
Michael made the world of American Flyer trains something to truly be proud of, and his loss is going to be felt deeply by all of us who were lucky enough to know him. I’ll always be grateful for his kindness, his expertise, and the friendship we shared over the years.
Linda and family, please know you’re in my thoughts. Mike’s legacy will always live on in this community and in the hearts of everyone he touched.
My Deepest Condolences,
Michael S. Oher
