Obituary of Marie A. Iamartino

Marie A. Iamartino, a longtime Florham Park resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 87. 

Marie was born in Danbury, CT on February 23, 1935, to the late Ralph and Carmela (née Grosso) Iamartino. She grew up in Newark, NJ with her sister Nina. 

Marie graduated from Montclair State University with a bachelor’s degree in English. She had a long and fulfilling career as an English teacher at Livingston High School for 34 years. In her retirement, Marie enjoyed volunteering with her local library. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison. 

Marie was a very intelligent woman with a quick wit. She enjoyed crossword puzzles to keep her mind sharp and was an avid reader of suspense novels. She also loved opera and old movies. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Nina Iamartino. She is survived by many cousins and dear friends. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Marie on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 AM at St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
