Obituary of Nancy Curto

Nancy Curto, a longtime Madison resident, died peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 72.

Nancy was born in Orange on November 17, 1949 to the late Carlos and Wilma Small. She was raised in Livingston with her four sisters and was a graduate of Livingston High School.

Nancy first met her husband Anthony C. Curto, Sr. at Seymour’s Café in her hometown. Anthony knew immediately that Nancy would be his wife. The couple were married on November 25, 1967and settled in Madison. The couple eventually welcomed three children into their family.

Nancy was a wonderful mother and she was always there for her children. Nancy always kept busy and after her children were older Nancy had several local jobs. She was well known for her years of service as a crossing guard on the corner of Green Village & Woodland Road in Madison, crossing the children of Torey J Elementary School. She also dedicated years of service delivering newspapers in the early morning hours in Madison and surrounding towns.

Nancy was delighted to become a Nana and her grandchildren meant the world to her. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially the numerous family dogs and cats she cared for over the years. She spoiled her pets and they all had a good, loving home with Nancy.

Nancy had many dear friends, many of which she had for her entire life. She was a devoted friend and would do anything for anyone in need, and she was always thoughtful. Nancy enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City and she loved scratch off tickets.

Nancy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony C. Curto, Sr.; her sister, Patty Mackowski; and her brothers-in-law, Joe Mackowski and Robert Foley. She is survived by her three children, Anthony Curto, Jr., Charles Richard Curto & Nancy Curto Kurdyla; her three sisters, Judy Foley, Cindy Fredericks & Penny Kaufman; her four cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph, Hunter & Trevor; many nieces and nephews; & many dear friends.
