Carmela was my closest sister, growing up. We played together all time as she liked boys games. She was very open and jovial. She had something in her that brought joy in the family: She was always smiling. She was a fighter and a survival because life was not fair to her: She lost her husband at young age, and she was hit by a malignant brain tumor in 1988 and its recurrence in 2001.
Her survival success must be attributed to her character, to the positive way to look at life, and to the desire to live.
Not too many things bother her the last few years of her life, as she had two successful daughters and five grandchildren. They were her life, and that was enough for her.
I love you, Carmela; I am proud to be your brother. Now rest in peace and look over us.
