Obituary of Feye Alaine Duchantier

Feye Alaine Duchantier, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the age of 64.

Feye was born in Nassau, Bahamas on June 6, 1957, to her loving parents, Ramond and Marie Duchantier. The family of seven relocated to the United States on and settled in East Orange, where Feye later graduated from East Orange High School.

Feye had a long career as a secretary for East Orange City Hall. She was a very intelligent woman and enjoyed playing the accordion and piano, as well as being a talented seamstress. She had a big sweet tooth and was a big fan of Betty Boop and Tweety Bird. She also enjoyed going out, whether it be shopping or out for a meal with her friends and family. Feye always had to look perfectly put together, matching her clothes and shoes to her jewelry, especially her watches. She also adored her green 2003 Honda truck, which drove her and her family and friends through numerous memorable adventures.

Feye’s family and friends describe her as a sweet, gentle, and forgiving soul. She was a strong, independent mother who doted on her children, and later her grandchildren. She could be very goofy at times and had a great sense of humor, and she was outgoing and friendly, making friends with everyone she met. Her bright spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Feye was preceded in death by her father, Ramond Duchantier, and her sister, Rosetta Duchantier. She is survived by her beloved mother, Marie E. Duchantier; her beloved children, Kenneth Boston, Naomi Baskenville, Selena Duchantier, and Angelena Duchantier; three brothers, Anthony Duchantier, Edmond Duchantier, and Ramond Duchantier, Jr.; seven treasured grandchildren; her niece Nadia Duchantier; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
