Obituary of Deborah Lee Zdobinski

Deborah Lee Zdobinski, of Rockaway, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on Thursday, July 21, 2021. She was 67.

Debbie was born in Irvington on January 21, 1954. She was raised in Madison and was a graduate of Madison High School. During high school, Debbie enrolled in the work-study program where she was offered a position at the Automatic Switch Co. in Florham Park. She had a long career at Automatic Switch as an administrative assistant before retiring.

Debbie met her husband and best friend, David Zdobinski, while the two were working at Automatic Switch. The couple were married on August 31, 1980 and set off on a wonderful honeymoon in Hawaii.  They lived in Parsipanny before settling in Rockaway in 1986. Debbie and Dave enjoyed traveling to Florida and going on cruises. Debbie was also an antique enthusiast and enjoyed bowling with Dave.

Debbie had a heart of gold and a deep faith. She will be deeply missed by all that loved and knew her.

Debbie was predeceased by her beloved mother, Lynne Roberts. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, David Zdobinski of Rockaway; her aunt and uncle, Carol & Ron Pierson of Williamsburg, VA; and many loving cousins & dear friends.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation held from 4:00PM to 7:00PM on Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. A Service of Remembrance to celebrate Debbie’s life will be held at the funeral home at 7:00PM following the visitation. A final visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 10:00AM to 10:30AM at the funeral home prior to interment at Somerset Hill Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
