We knew a special lady named Kaye who lived on Coursen Way.
How she loved to read and write and share it with us each Saturday night.
Shark tank was her favorite show and how she admired Mark Cuban so.
She spoke often of her daughters and beloved husband David, and memories of their travels made her feel elated.
We will always remember Kaye's keen sense of humor, her smile and laughter which were no match for us boomers.
She always walked around with phone in hand because calls constantly came in from friends Barbara and Fran.
With a big heart and a generous soul, she opened her home to Donis, Sammy and Joe who she came to love as though they were her own.
Now in the care that she bestowed to others she is home with her Lord Jesus and all her newly found Christian sisters and brothers.
We love you Kaye,
Leslie and Richard

I had the most insightful conversations at the dinner table with Kaye at night. Conversations that I will stay with me for the rest of my life. Kaye will never be forgotten.
I love you Kaye, Joe

Kaye and I, although she had many friends, shared a very special friendship. I was privy to get to know Kaye on a very personal level due to the fact that we shared a home and hundreds of conversations together. She was a "CLASSIC"!! She never spoke ill of others however....getting her point across by the asking of questions and those distinct facial expressions! A vessel of peace...Blessed are the peacekeepers for they shall be called the sons and daughters of God. That was Kaye and full of hidden wisdom, seeing the weakness and character flaws of others but never letting on or exposing, always in honor and covering them...A TRUE GEM of a woman.
Now for a time we will be separated but in our end and through our relationship with Jesus Christ Our Lord,we shall reunite with Kaye and Sammy (who loved her so) in the glory of heaven.
Thank you Kaye for all of your kindness and sincere friendship...I love you
Donis

To Kaye's daughters family and friends,
We were lucky enough to know Kaye for the better part of a decade after my dad and Kathy started dating and eventually got married.
Kaye was a staple at family gatherings and holidays, quietly but excellently making my wife and I laugh with her witty comments and awesome style.
Fun story- my wife who was 60 years younger was in love with Kaye's jewelry and overall style, to the point they both showed up to Christmas with more or less the same jacket on!
We never heard Kaye mention a bad word about anybody, and she perfectly picked her moments to speak up or make comments, not wasting any breath on unnecessary chat.
Our favorite quote by her that we will live by forever is "I never met a carb I didn't like."
We're going to miss Kaye with her gentleness and sense of humor, but she will never be forgotten. I wish my 2 babies could have met Kaye as I know she would have loved them instantly and dearly.
She can now rest peacefully, forever.
Love,
Keith, Marina, Leia and Mina

Kathy and Amy, I am so sorry for your loss. I met your mom several times, and it was obvious she was a strong, unique and determined woman. I know she will be missed by the many whose lives she touched as confirmed by all the gestures here.

Kaye was lovely, very bright, had a quiet, sharp wit about her and got along with all different kinds of people. She married the love of her life, David, and aged gracefully into her nineties.
I remember running away with Amy to Watkins Glen, NY, for a three day rock festival when we were 16. The second we arrived we called our parents. Even though the festival was front page news, which intrigued my father, Kaye was not impressed. We were punished when we got home and were forbidden to ever see each other. However, Amy and I did see each other and are best friends to this day. I will miss Kaye who was like a second mother to me. We stayed close and in touch throughout the years.
My condolences to Amy, Kathy, Lauren and Jennifer, and to the whole extended family.

Oh my beloved Kay, an artist to the core - we have
known each other for many lives - how vividly I remember
our first meeting at your house in Chatham --
Only a true artist speaks in the mysterious language
of other artists -- and yet you were not nearly so aware of
being an artist as I was about you
Our many meetings over the years - your warmth
emanating from every pore --I was so sorry I could not see
you more - our lunches with Bonnie - the meetings -
so spontaneous --
And yet you remained elusive, especially after David died,
and I knew the suffering that you endured from his being gone
A good thing for me that Amy was your daughter - Amy saved my
life in the early 90's when she was living in Walnut Creek with Tom
-- no one can ever know the true depth of meaning for the artist - or the
lives that pass thru us like saints -
love Peter Hodge

I am honored and blessed to have considered Kaye my “other mother” and friend. From the time I met her in the ‘70s as a teenage friend of her daughters she was a presence in my life, offering compassionate advice, heartfelt encouragement and unconditional love. Her greatest gift, however, was that of her adult friendship when I moved back to Madison for a while to care for my parents. What a joy it was to indulge our shared love of lunch and an art film, jaunts to MoMA and the Met, and mid afternoon get togethers “just because”. She was a fantastic conversationalist, witty as all get out, and a wonderful friend who gave of herself freely and deeply. I will miss her so very much.
To Kathy, Amy, Lauren and Jennifer I send my heartfelt sympathy, love and eternal thanks for sharing her with me. May you all find comfort in your memories. She was the best.
