Obituary of Louise A. Gisoldi

Louise A. Gisoldi (née Del Giudice), was called home to the Lord on the night of the Easter Vigil, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the age of 93, with her loving children at her side.

Louise was born in Madison on October 6, 1927 to the late Nicholas and Gertrude Del Giudice (née Chiarolanza). She grew up on North Street with her six loving siblings and graduated from St. Vincent Martyr School and Madison High School.

Louise married the love of her life, Samuel Gisoldi, on June 26, 1949. The couple lived in Summit before returning back to Madison where they settled and raised their family.

After high school Louise worked at Martindale-Hubbell in New Providence until the birth of her children. She returned to Martindale-Hubbell after the death of her husband until her retirement.

Louise had a deep faith in God and a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. She was the dearest, most loving, honest, practical, strong and faithful woman who always put her family first. Her happiest days were when she spent time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Many happy hours were spent being present to both her children and grandchildren at their many activities and special events as well as gathering them all for a delicious home cooked meal at her home. She was a role model to all who knew her.

Louise was a lifelong, faithful parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church and an active member of the SVM Rosary Society. She always put her faith into action by serving others, which included volunteering at the Interfaith Food Pantry, at St. Vincent’s Church, and a yearly visit to Eva’s Kitchen.

Louise was predeceased by her husband Samuel J. Gisoldi; her parents, Gertrude (née Chiarolanza) and Nicholas Del Giudice; her brother, Philip Del Giudice; her sisters, Angela Cosimelo, Carmela “Mel” Del Giudice, Anne Heilmann, and Trudy Del Giudice; her mother and father-in-law, Vincent and Millie Gisoldi; and brother and sister-in-law, Cosimo and Rita Gisoldi.

She is survived by her beloved children, Anne Marie Gisoldi, Linda Palermo (Dave), Lou Ann Puglise (Frank), Joseph Gisoldi (Megan); her cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Jaclynn Palermo, Jessica Artigliere, and Sam, Grace & Joseph Gisoldi; her sister, Mary Lou Jacobi, brother and sister-in-law, Vincent and Helen Gisoldi, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Louise’s family is grateful for the dedication and care from her niece and care giver, Trudi Lo Sapio, and from the Summit Medical Group team, especially Dr. Michael Wax and his nurse, Allison Young.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM held at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Friday, April 9, 2021 at St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison. For those that wish, you may attend the Funeral Liturgy virtually via livestream by visiting www.svmnj.org at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison.
