Obituary of David A. Mejia

David Anthony Mejia, a longtime Florham Park resident, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2020. He was 28 years old.

David was born in Newark, NJ on June 1, 1991 to Antonio and Thelma Mejia. He grew up in a very close and loving family, and was always looking out for his siblings.

David was a straight A student and graduated with honors from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a bachelor’s degree. He had a passion for technology and began his own business as an IT specialist for small businesses. David also ran a successful YouTube channel under the name Daveyburr where he would review tech related products.

David was an all-around loving person. He naturally enjoyed helping others in any way he could, and would give the shirt off his back to someone if it would help them. His giving persona helped to bring out the good in other people. David was also very passionate about his interests, and had great determination to accomplish his goals. His kind, good nature will be missed by all who knew him, especially his beloved family.

David is survived by his parents, Antonio and Thelma Mejia of Florham Park; his brother, Carlos Mejia of Florham Park; his 2 sisters, Gwen Eilers and her husband Adam of Florham Park, and Waleska Rockwell of Florham Park; his niece Gracie Eilers; his nephews Anthony Eilers, Ivan Rockwell, and Zain Baig; and many good friends.

Funeral services for David will be held privately for the family under the direction of Madison Memorial Home.
