Obituary of Joseph W. Mayron, Jr.

Joseph William Mayron, Jr., a longtime resident of Parsippany, died peacefully on April 20, 2020 at the age of 88.

Joe was born in Paterson on March 7, 1932 to the late Joseph William Mayron, Sr. & Selma Mayron (nee Barthold). He was raised in the Paterson area and earned his B.S in Industrial Arts and his Masters in education. Joe served in the US Army in Berlin from 1953 to 1955, prior to his honorable discharge.

He was a teacher for many years at Chatham Junior High School and a longtime member of the board of directors of the Visions Credit Union, which served his fellow teachers. He served as the recording secretary of the credit union for many years. He was also an active and longtime member of the Parsippany Elks club and American Legion.

Joe married his beloved wife of 62 years, Elaine Mayron (nee Vislotsky) on November 23, 1957 and they settled in Parsippany. They were a loving couple and enjoyed spending time together, taking trips to Atlantic City and spending their summers at the New Jersey shore with family and friends. Joe was also an avid fisherman and appreciated the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his cousins, Raymon Taylor & James Marcellus Taylor. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Mayron (nee Vislotsky); one son, Gary Mayron; his nephew, Clarence Osborn; his sister-in-law, Janet Osborn (nee Vislotsky); his cousins, Robert Taylor, Lawrence Taylor, Sr., Ann Taylor McCully, Gilbert Marcellus Taylor, Joyce Taylor Eberlin, & Paula Taylor.

Funeral services for Joe will be held privately for the family and are under the direction of the Madison Memorial Home. Private interment will be held at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.
