Obituary of Rose A. Esposito

Rose Ann Esposito, a lifelong Madison resident, died peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2020. She was 87 years old.

Rose was born in Madison on November 27, 1932 to the late Anthony and Marie Palma. She was raised in Madison, the youngest of 4 children.

Rose met her beloved husband, the late Anthony Esposito, when he returned from his service in the US Army. The couple married and remained in Madison to raise their beautiful family. Rose had a career as an assembly line worker for HP Higgs & Company in Madison for many years. She also loved children and would babysit often for family members.

Rose was a very giving woman who always looked out for others. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and made many bonnets that she would donate to babies in the hospital. She was a people person and loved to sit on her back porch and chat with any neighbors who happened to walk by. Above all, she deeply loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She went to all of her grandkids’ sporting events and extracurricular activities, and she adored spending time with the family for the holidays. Her family fondly remembers her delicious cooking on Christmas Eve. Rose was also an avid Yankees fan and a dog lover.

In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Anthony J. “Woke-Up” Esposito in 2018; her brother, Nick Palma; and her sisters, Mary Jaeger and Amelia Esposito. She is survived by her son, Dominick A. Esposito and his companion, Susan Volpe of Florham Park; her daughter, Nancy Artiglere and her husband, Michael of Flanders; her three cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Dominick, and Michael; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Funeral Services are being held privately for the family under the direction of Madison Memorial Home. A Memorial Service to celebrate Rose’s life will be held at a later date.

Charitable contributions can be made in Rose’s memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or at stjude.org/donate.
