Obituary of Pasquale "Pat" L. Lepre
Pasquale “Pat” L. Lepre, a longtime resident of Madison, died peacefully at home on Friday, April 17, 2020 surrounded by the love of his family. He was 93.
Pat was born in Newark on March 26, 1927 to the late Vincent and Maria Lepre. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Navy. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, Pat enrolled in Seton Hall University where he earned his bachelors degree.
Pat was introduced to the love of his life, Lucy Marconi, by family friends. The couple married on October 17, 1959 and settled in Madison, where they raised their family and have lived since. Pat was tremendously dedicated to his family and career for his entire life. His first role was with RCA as an electronics buyer, then Pat transitioned his position to International Paper in New York City, where he was an oil buyer for many years. Pat retired from State Electronics in East Hanover, NJ at 83 years old, where he worked for a total of 25 years.
Pat was a great father, grandfather, husband and friend. He was a beloved neighbor and community man, who always looked out for others. He was a strong supporter of his late wife, Lucy’s efforts in volunteering for charitable organizations and philanthropy towards others less fortunate. Pat was an unbelievable gardener of vegetables and flowers. He took great pride in his lawn and was well known for his prized fig tree, which he cared for diligently throughout the year.
Pat was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Lucy Lepre (nee Marconi) on April 9, 2020. He is survived by his daughter, Anne Lepre of Madison; his son, Michael Lepre and his wife, Julie of McLean, VA; his brother-in-law, The Most Reverend Bishop Dominic A. Marconi of Chatham, two sister-in-laws, Carol Marconi and Patricia Lepre, three cherished grandsons, Alex Stetkevych, Matthew Lepre & William Lepre; many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Visitation and funeral services will be held privately for the family. Interment will be held at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Madison Memorial Home.
