Obituary of Arline Marie Steimle

Arline Marie (Storch) Steimle entered eternal rest on April 6, 2020 at the age of 92.  Born in Englewood on August 12, 1927 to Ernest and Veronica (Linder) Storch.  Arline grew up in Palisades Park and attended Leonia High School.  She worked for American Cynamid, The Bergen Record and Bloomingdales before retiring in 1988.

She met the love of her life, a handsome young man in a naval uniform, while waiting in line at the entrance to Palisades Amusement Park.  They married in June 1948 and lived in Leonia before moving to River Edge in 1965.

Arline’s true joy in life was spending time with her family, especially vacationing at the beach where she enjoyed swimming and collecting shells with her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and took great pleasure in entertaining family and friends.  In retirement, she enjoyed traveling to Europe and throughout the U.S. Above all, she loved her family and was always there to give advice, share stories and celebrate life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years Andrew John and her children, Cheryl Templeton and her husband George of Chatham, NJ and Andrew John and his wife Carol of Mahwah; her grandchildren, Vanessa Templeton of Cranford, Ryan Templeton and his wife Rachel of Chatham, NJ, Andrew John of Mahwah and Kevin Matthew Steimle of San Diego, CA. She had two cherished great-grandchildren, Summer and Trent (Templeton) Wallden.  Arline is also survived by her loving brother-in-law Kenneth Steimle and his wife Florence , sister-in-law Dorothy Steimle and many beloved nieces and nephews.
