Obituary of Michael A. LoBosco
Michele Arcangelo “Michael” LoBosco, a longtime Madison resident, died peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2020. He was 83.
Born in Brooklyn on March 3, 1937 to the late Angelo and Maria LoBosco, Michael was raised and spent most of his life in Brooklyn. He relocated to Madison with his wife in 1999 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. Michael served his country in the US Navy during the end of the Korean War, prior to his honorable discharge. He also served in the US Army Reserve at Ft. Hamilton in New York for many years up until his honorable discharge in the early 1980’s.
Michael was married to his beloved wife, Rose LoBosco (nee Chiantese) on March 12, 1960. The couple settled in Brooklyn where they raised their family. Michael had a long career as a firefighter with the New York City Fire City Department in Dyker Heights Brooklyn, and prior to that as an officer with the New York City Department of Corrections. In his retirement, Michael was an extensive traveler and enjoyed spending summers at the beach in Waretown, NJ with his wife and family. He and his late wife, Rose LoBosco, were also parishioners of St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison.
Michael was deeply devoted to his family and was a humble, respectful gentleman that lived a life of service towards others. He will be deeply missed by his family and all that knew and loved him.
In 2013, Michael was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rose LoBosco. He was also predeceased by his parents and his three brothers, Anthony, Carmine and Philip LoBosco. Michael is survived by two sons, Michael LoBosco and his wife, Joann LoBosco of Manhattan & Steve LoBosco of Chatham: his three daughters, Maria Porfirio and her husband, Franco Porfirio of Madison. Susan Sirna and her husband, Dr. Paul Sirna of Madison & Angela Raiola and her husband, Christopher Raiola of Florham Park; and his fourteen cherished grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
The visitation and funeral service for Michael will be held privately for immediate family. Interment will be held at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison.
