Obituary of Gail P. Jennings

Gail Patricia Jennings, longtime Hackettstown resident, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 77.

Gail was born in Morristown on March 17, 1942 to the late Martin and Mary Jennings. She was raised in Madison and was a 1960 graduate of Madison High School. Gail enjoyed her daily trips to the Park Avenue Market and visiting the many friends she had in Madison. She moved to Hackettstown 30 years ago and settled at the Washington Township ARC Group Home, where she had many long-lasting friendships with fellow residents and several staff members.

Gail was a naturally kindhearted, warm & caring person. She did not let her disability get in the way of having an active and productive life. She loved shopping, especially for clothing, and going out to dinner to enjoy a meal with family and friends.  Gail also appreciated music and enjoyed listening to the radio often.

Gail is survived by her devoted brother, Robert Jennings and his wife, Ellen of Madison; her beloved niece, Jackie Jennings and her husband, Salvatore Gentile of Brooklyn; several cousins and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a memorial visitation to celebrate Gail’s life on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 8:30AM to 9:30AM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison followed by a 10:00AM memorial Liturgy of Christian Burial held at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church, Madison. Inurnment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made in Gail’s Memory to the ARC of Morris County, 1 Executive Drive, P.O. Box 123, Morris Plains, NJ 07950 or online at www.arcmorris.org/donate_now
