Obituary of Judith W. Forbes

Judith Williams Forbes, a longtime Florham Park resident, died peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the age of 84.

Judy was born in Gaithersburg, Maryland on August 24, 1934 to the late Earl and Helen Williams. She was a graduate of Lake Erie College, where she earned a liberal arts degree.  After graduating, Judy moved to New York City where she worked at the New York Public Library and eventually met her husband, the late Donald Forbes. After the couple married, they moved to Florham Park in 1963, where they raised their family. Judy retired from the Foster Wheeler Corporation in Livingston after working as an administrative assistant for many years.

Judy was a very active member of the Florham Park community. She was past president of the AARP and an active member of the Florham Park Garden Club. She loved playing bridge and canasta with her friends.  She also enjoyed traveling abroad and throughout the United States with her husband, and more recently with her sister.

In addition to her parents, Judith was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald Forbes in 2007; her daughter, Helen Ryan; a son-in-law, Patrick Ryan; and one brother, Greg Williams. She is survived by her son, David Forbes and his wife, Laura of Florham Park; one brother, Keith Williams; her sister, Linda Forney; four cherished grandchildren, Eric, Anne, Brielle and Christopher; and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation to celebrate Judy’s life on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.
