I am so sorry to hear of Serge's passing. He and I were good friends during our days on Cornell EMS together. And then one day, we ran into each other at Morristown Medical Center, where I am also a physician. Sadly, we never did get a chance to fully catch up. He was a wonderful and caring person, and clearly is missed dearly by both family and patients alike. May his memory be blessing to all who loved him.

I’m shocked to hear this. I only met him once but Dr. Khoobiar was my one and only favorite doctor. A few years ago I went in to get a checkup and heart nuclear scan at about age 46 due to a uncertain EKG finding from another practice. Having VERY high anxiety in general and esp at doctors offices - he got me thru it and made me very at ease. I still remember his voice saying ‘it’s not your heart’ upon his findings and conclusion. I can still hear him in my head right now whenever I get stressed and think it’s my heart, so clearly. Now today I was just looking him up in google when I found this. I’m so disturbed by this loss. If feels like I lost a friend and a great resource. He is irreplaceable- but I wonder if his personality and genes will be inherited by his children who can come close to replacing this now missing link in the medical profession. If you have his personality, intelligence and people skills then I urge you to please follow in his footsteps....

I did my residency @Saint Barnabas hospital from 2011-2013.
We had choice in electives every year - however I chose to do Cardiology elective every year - because we had an excellent, humble, down to earth but brilliant cardiologist Dr.Khoobiar as our mentor.
I was blessed to have a teacher like him.
I will miss him so much- flashbacks of his guidance , teachings are running through my mind. He was so very humble to his patients as well.
He left too early - but he achieved so much in so little time. His memories will always live with us forever.
RIP Dr. Khoobiar

My family and I would like to wish the Khoobiar family our deepest condolences.
We just learned of Dr. Khoobiar's passing and are in absolute shock. Dr. Khoobiar was my father and my husband's cardiologist and I was going to make an appointment to see him myself. He was such a kind and caring Physician and he always took his time with my father during his visits. We are so saddened by his sudden passing.
Rest in Peace, Dr. Khoobiar.

Dr. Khoobiar,
The news about you passing on to the next life was given to me just yesterday when I was getting ready for a follow-up appointment that I had with you. It shocked me very much I couldn’t contain my tears and cried for the rest of the day. You helped me so much after my cardiac arrest last year. I will forever be thankful for everything you did for me at the hospital and at the office. Your passing really saddened my heart. God is always wanting his best angels back by his side, I’m sure you will be a great guide for your family from up above. I will always keep you and yours in my prayers, God bless you, Rest In Peace Dr. Khoobiar :(

Serge was a forever friend to the Morris family. He would come over, when he and Brian were in high school and through college, and we'd play pool, and just hang out, and have a lot of laughs. I remember my mom serving dinners, and she would also have a fruit salad alongside dinner because Serge just liked it so much. He was so much fun and so gracious and considerate - he came back from college to be my senior year prom date, and he was the greatest. We drove to the prom playing (on repeat for some reason) the Rolling Stones "you can't always get what you want". And to this day, whenever I hear that song, I think of Serge. A light extinguished too soon.

To the Khoobiar family,
My husband was his patient and I have never seen such a compassionate and caring doctor. He helped us when no one else seemed to care. Always returned calls, and helped me with things besides cardiac care. He was a wonderful man and an excellent doctor. We will miss him dearly. Our prayers are with your family.

Dearest Khoobiar Family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. May you all find the strength to put one foot in front of the other and somehow find a way to also celebrate as you mourn. I've always loved this poem and have leaned on it myself from time to time...
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
Know that you are all being carried through this devastation and that all of the town of Madison (even people who you don't know) are praying for you and would do anything to take away some of your pain.
Thinking of you,
Kathy

Dr. Khoobiar was one of the most friendliest and approachable physicians I have ever met. He constantly made sure he communicated to nurses his plan of care for his paitients. I last saw Dr. Khoobiar the Monday prior. That day we spoke regarding his plan for a paitient I was in charge with. That day I vividly remember thinking to myself that I really appreciate him and thought highly of how he respects nurses’ input.
Dr. Khoobiar will be truly missed.

Sargis was such a wonderful man and a terrific doctor. When I worked at St. Barnabas he was always the first choice for cardiology consults because he was a skilled physician and one of the most personable doctors I have ever worked with. He was always polite and personable. It was a pleasure to call him when we had a consult because you knew the second he picked up the phone he would give you his full attention. I remember contacting him regarding a patient while he was on vacation, and he took the time to sit and walk me through his recommendations. I always had in the back of my mind the idea that if a family member ever needed a cardiologist, he would be the first one I would recommend.
Sending thoughts and prayers to family and friends.
Sargis, you will be greatly missed.
