Obituary of Sharon Denise Chapman

Sharon Denise Chapman, of Madison, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, January 13, 2019 with her beloved family at her side. She was 65.

Sharon was born in Burke, NC on January 17, 1953 to the late William and Frances Chapman. She was raised in Dayton, OH and moved to New Jersey after graduating high school. Sharon lived in Vauxhall prior to settling in Madison 20 years ago. She had a long career with AT&T in Parsippany for many years prior to her retirement.

Sharon loved the company of others and was a genuine, good hearted soul. She loved dogs tremendously and they brought great comfort to her. Sharon especially loved the dogs at the Harmony House of Madison, where she spent time daily with her dear friends. She loved playing card games and spending time at the pool in the warmer months. Sharon was a fan of Disney movies and loved spending time in the park enjoying the outdoors. Despite her long illness, she made the best of her life and loved unconditionally. She will be forever remembered and missed by all those whose lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her sisters, Elaine Harden and Demetriss Chapman; and a brother-in-law, Daniel W. Harden I. She is survived by her loving and devoted sister, Yvonne Chapman of Madison (Ray Woodson); a nephew, Daniel W. Harden II of Somerset (his fiancée, Arianna Ferranti); one niece, Linda D. Harden of Georgia; one niece-in-law, Vivian Harden of Chicago (the late James Duane Harden); one great-nephew, Marquis Ballard; a close family friend, James Harrington; and many good friends at Harmony House.

All may gather at 9:00AM on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, where a 10:00AM funeral service led by Rev. A. Craig Dunn will be held. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Sharon’s life on Thursday from 4PM to 8PM at the funeral home.
