Obituary of Sean Edward Needham
Sean Edward Needham, a lifelong Madison resident, entered into eternal peace at home on January 3, 2019. He was 28.
Sean was born in Morristown on December 10, 1990 to his proud and loving parents, Jack and Elaine Needham. He was raised in Madison and was a lifelong resident along with his dear brother, Keith. After graduating from Madison High School, Sean graduated from of the County College of Morris. He was currently enrolled to begin classes at Rowan University.
Despite being born with a disability, Sean lived his life to the fullest and was an extraordinarily giving and compassionate person. He was born with a natural ability to connect with others and help those in need, especially people with disabilities. Sean made himself available to the disabled community 24/7 by extending his kindness and loving, spiritual support. He will leave behind a legacy of service and love towards others that will remain with them forever, and he inspired all those he helped with his courage and his drive
Sean was a man of tremendous faith in God and his church. He was an active member of the Cornerstone group at St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison and forged many lasting & strong friendships with other parishioners, especially his friend & pastor, Rev. Msgr. George Hundt.
Sean lived to spend time weight training at Carini’s House of Iron in Pine Brook with his trainer and friend, Joe. He was no different in Joe’s gym than the able bodied professional athletes, all of whom were friends. He had a mind like a sponge and a memory his family members depended on. Sean was an automobile enthusiast with a vast expertise on all cars from any era. He was a WWII history buff with detailed knowledge of the Eastern European front. Sean loved animals, with a special love for his German Shepherd Tanner.
Sean is predeceased by his grandfather, George J. Needham and his aunt, Tricia Cody. He is survived by his loving parents, Jack and Elaine Needham (nee Gamba) of Madison; one brother, Keith Needham of Madison; two uncles, Mark Gamba & George P. Needham; three aunts, Denise Cole, Jane Andrews & Denise Reinholt; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Igea Gamba of Warminster, PA; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Needham of Newtown, PA; many cousins and so many good friends.
Funeral services will begin at 9:00AM on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 10:00AM Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church, Madison. Cremation will be held privately at the family’s request. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Sean’s life on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.
Sean’s family has requested that in lieu of flowers, charitable contributions be made in Sean’s memory to the Loyola Jesuit Center, 161 James Street, Morristown 07960 or The Dr. Theodore Atlas Foundation, 543 Cary Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310.
