Obituary of Virginia N. Allocco
Virginia Nancy Allocco, a longtime Madison resident, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. She was 92.
Virginia was born in Benevento, Italy on November 4, 1926 to the late Philip & Elizabeth Oropallo. She was raised in Morristown and was a graduate of Morristown High School. She settled in Madison over 70 years ago after being married to her beloved husband, the late Vincent Allocco.
Virginia devoted her life to her family and making life comfortable for them. She loved baking for family and friends, and frequently took bus trips to Atlantic City with her many dear friends. Virginia was a fan of all sports, especially her beloved Yankees. She enjoyed spending winters in the warm weather of Lake Worth, FL with her dear husband, prior to his passing.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was predeceased by her daughter, Anne Del Duca in 2003; her son-in-law, Joe “Ba” Del Duca; and her brother, Michael Oropallo. She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Izzo and her husband, Steve; one sister, Phyllis Pisciotto; three brother-in-laws, Michael Allocco, Larry Allocco & Joseph Allocco; one sister-in-law, Anne Fuschetti; five cherished grandchildren, Michael Izzo, Zachary Izzo, Michael Del Duca, Joseph Del Duca & David Del Duca; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 9:00AM on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 10:00AM Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison. Interment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Virginia’s life on Sunday from 2PM to 5PM at the funeral home.
