Obituary of Alvaro Duque

Alvaro Duque, of Madison, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the age of 57.

Alvaro was born and raised in Filandia, Colombia on October 24, 1961 to the late Guillermo Duque and Fabiola Garcia. He emigrated to the United States six years ago and devoted his entire life to hard work in order to support his cherished family back in Colombia.

Alvaro was a painter by trade and when he was not working, he loved to play his guitar. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Marjory Restrepo of Colombia; his son, Santiago Duque Restrepo of Colombia; his daughter, Yissela Duque Restrepo of Colombia; and his niece, Daniella Toro Duque of Madison.

A visitation to celebrate Alvaro’s life will be held from 1:00PM to 3:00PM on Saturday, November 24, 2018, with a 2:30PM funeral service held at the funeral home led by Fr. Darwin Lastra. Interment will be held in Colombia.
