Obituary of Antoinette J. Sena

Antoinette J. Sena (nee Zara), a lifelong Florham Park resident, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2018, at the family home she was born in. She was 92.

Antoinette was born on April 1, 1926 to the late Frank and Louise Zara. She attended primary school at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Florham Park and enjoyed her childhood growing up in Florham Park and Madison with her loving, close knit family. She married her beloved husband, Peter Sena, Jr. in October of 1946 and the two would spend 72 wonderful years together with their cherished family.

Antoinette’s life was devoted to her family and she was a woman of tremendous faith in God. She prayed for others regularly and would pray the rosary daily, if not twice. She took great pride in the family home and loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. Preparing her family meals during the holidays and having everyone together was very important to her.

Antoinette was very skilled at crocheting, sewing and loved ceramics. She was an avid reader of novels and she enjoyed spending time with her many friends at the Florham Park Senior Citizen’s Center. She enjoyed walking regularly with her dear friends. Antoinette and her gentle, loving manner will always be missed by those that loved and knew her.

In addition to her parents, Antoinette was predeceased by her brother, Clement Zara. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Peter Sena, Jr.; her three loving daughters, Carmella Conca (Frank), Louise Gentile (Joseph) & Frances Sena-McMahon (Neil); her cherished grandchildren, Stephen Conca (Tina), Melissa LaMonica (Anthony), Allison Matejczyk (Mike), Heather Gonroski (Jeff) & Lauren Gentile; her dear step-grandchildren, Colleen Stilwill, Corey McMahon & Kyle McMahon; her great-grandchildren, Roman Conca, Mia Conca, Gemma Conca, Julia Matejczyk, Luke Matejczyk, Ava LaMonica, Sophie LaMonica & Madyson Gonroski; a niece, Marylouise Marano; a nephew, Frank Zara; many other beloved nieces, nephews & dear friends.
