Obituary of Patricia P Sarles

Patricia P. Sarles (nee Patten), a longtime Madison resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 74 years old. Patricia was born on July 20, 1943 in Monroe, LA to the late Frank and Carol Patten.

Patricia was raised in Chatham. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald "Gerry" H. Sarles on June 26, 1965 and the couple moved to Madison where they raised their beautiful family. Patricia instilled a deep sense of family in her children and grandchildren, a legacy which will live on in them.  She loved her grandchildren dearly and also enjoyed spending time with her many friends at the Chateau Thierry Senior Citizen’s Building in Madison. Before her retirement, Patricia was an administrative assistant at the dental office of Dr. Coyle in Madison. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Patricia is survived by her three loving daughters, Cari Doherty and her husband Daniel, of Gillette; Amy Cirella of Randolph & Jennifer Scanio and her husband, Thomas of Garwood; two sisters, Barbara Cooney and her husband Tom, of OR & Pamela Patten of OR; and many good friends. She was also blessed with six cherished grandchildren, Caroline, Brynn, Ryan, Joseph, Nicholas and TJ. Patricia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald H. Sarles in 2008 and her son-in-law, Capt. Joseph Cirella in 2015.

A Memorial Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church in Madison. Interment will be held privately for the family at a later date. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a memorial visitation to celebrate Patricia’s life from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.
