Obituary of William J. Kuzmenski
William “Bill” J. Kuzmenski, a longtime Madison resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 89.
Bill leaves behind his niece, Pat Shay and her husband Robert Roe; & his nephew, Don Kimble and his wife Janice. He was predeceased by his wife Jane Barry Mitchell in 2015.
Bill was born in Whippany to the late Joseph and Agnes Kuzmenski. He was raised and lived there for several years before moving to Madison 50 years ago with his beloved wife. Bill worked with his late brother for many years at The Corner Store in Whippany before his retirement.
Bill served in the US Army honorably during the Korean War and earned a Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star and a United Nations Service Medal . He was a member of both the American Legion and VFW in Whippany.
Relatives and friends may gather for a visitation to celebrate Bill’s life on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. A funeral service will follow at 11:00AM at the funeral home, which will be concluded with military honors service. Cremation will be held privately at the family’s request.
