Obituary of Maria Immacolata LoSapio

Maria Immacolata LoSapio (nee Alise), a long-time Madison resident, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 3, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was 97.

Maria was born and raised in Marigliano, Italy to the late Antonio and Filomena Alise. Maria and her beloved husband of 63 years, Mario LoSapio, settled in Madison in the early 1960’s.

Maria treasured her family and she devoted her life to them. She took great pride in the family home in Madison and she enjoyed cooking meals for family and friends. Maria was a woman of strong will and tremendous faith in God. She was a 30-year survivor of breast cancer.

Maria leaves behind her beloved husband, Mario LoSapio; her two daughters, Filomena Glodzik (John) & Nancy LoSapio; two cherished granddaughters, Maria & Kaitlyn; many nieces, nephews and good friends.   

Funeral services will begin at 12:00PM on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 1:00PM Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church, Madison. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 1:00PM to 5:00PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
