Obituary of William H. Spina, Jr.

William H. Spina, Jr. passed away peacefully at Morristown Medical Center on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, on the same day that his beloved wife passed away 11 years ago. He was 78. His love and devotion to his family and work are his legacy, and will live on in his children and grandchildren.

Born and raised in Queens, NY, William was a long-time Morristown resident. He moved to Marco Island, FL several years ago after retiring. William was the 3rd generation president of Standard Tile for over 40 years. 
William served in the US Navy honorably and attended LaSalle Military Academy in Oakdale, NY. He was an avid golfer and organized charitable golf outings and other events that helped raise funds to support ALS research. William will also be remembered for his love of the NY Yankees.

William was preceded in death by his dear wife, Carol Spina (nee Iannello); his parents, William and Frances Spina; and his daughter-in-law, Anne Spina (nee Doran). He leaves behind his beloved partner, Carol Bock of Marco Island, FL; one son, Bill Spina of Harding Twp.; one daughter, Lisa Adami of Montville (Don); one sister, Marie Breuss of Wycoff (Chuck); five cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Joe, Caroline, Will, & Owen; and many good friends.

Funeral services will begin on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 8:45AM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 10:00AM Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at Assumption Church, Morristown. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington. Relatives and friends are invited to gather to share memories and celebrate William’s life at a visitation held on Thursday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William’s memory to the Eleanor and Lou Gehrig MDA/ALS Research Center at Columbia University, 710 W. 168th Street, NY, NY 10032
