Obituary of Jean Caputo
The heart of our family left us today. She left us with beautiful memories and a strong sense of family. Each of us will strive to be everything she instilled in us.
Jean Caputo (nee DiFuria), of Convent Station, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 2, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was 97.
Born in Reggio Emilia, Italy, Jean moved to Brooklyn, NY with her parents at a very young age. She lived both in Italy and Brooklyn for several years. It was in Brooklyn that Jean was introduced to her beloved husband of 68 years, the late Aldo Remo Caputo. They lived in Hewlett Harbor, Long Island, and Puerto Rico, before settling in Morristown in 1960 with their family.
Jean’s life was devoted to caring for her family. She had a tremendous amount of pride in her home and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who she loved dearly and were the most important part of her life.
Jean leaves behind her two sons, Remo Caputo, Esq. of Convent Station and Joseph Caputo, MD of Mendham Twp.; one daughter, Annette Caputo of Mendham Twp., and her husband, David Klezer; two grandchildren, Gina Gambino of Mendham Twp., and her husband, Ian Smith, and Ben Caputo of Chester Twp., and his wife, Stephanie; and 5 cherished great-grandchildren, Ethan, Mason, Joseph, Carmelina, and Ryan.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM on Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 12:00PM Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Thomas More RC Church, Convent Station. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday from 1:00PM to 5:00PM at the funeral home.
