Obituary of Ronald O'Brien
Ronald J. O'Brien, a life-long Madison resident, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 peacefully at Morristown Medical Center. He was 78 years old.
Ronald was born in Morristown to the late Joseph P. and Anna L. O'Brien (nee Mc Gough). He had a career with US Postal Service as a letter carrier in Madison for 32 years, retiring in 1992. He was a parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr RC Church in Madison for his entire life.
Ronald was a very active member of the Madison community and he lived his life generously giving his time back to the community that he loved. He volunteered for over 20 years with the Madison Ambulance Corps and he served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Anne Villa. Ronald was a past member of the Madison B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1465, the Madison Masonic Lodge #93, and the Florham Park/Madison Knights of Columbus #2248. Ronald was also well known for organizing and incorporating a small, non-profit company, Justa Buncha Clowns, Inc., a fun, charitable organization that brought much joy to so many people for many years.
Ronald was preceded in death by his sister Sheila Hladik (nee O'Brien). He leaves behind his brother, Robert J. O'Brien of Englewood, FL; several nieces & nephews; and many good friends.
A memorial Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10AM at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church, Madison. Interment will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison. Arrangements are under the direction of the Madison Memorial Home.
