Obituary of Victoria Martell

Victoria 'Vicky' Martell Director of music ministry at St. Vincent Martyr Church,88 Victoria "Vicky" Martell (nee Washeleski), of Madison, N.J., died on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at her home. She was 88 years old. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 9 a.m. at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main St., Madison, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison. Interment is at St. Vincent's Cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Martell was born in Simpson, Pa., and lived there and in Fairview Park, Ohio, before moving to Madison over 50 years ago. Vicky was a graduate of Mansfield University in Mansfield, Pa., where she received her B.A. before going on to receive her M.A. in music from Penn State University. She was always involved with music, and in her early years in Pennsylvania she sang with the Fred Waring Pennslyvanians. Vicky worked as the supervisor of music for the Clarks Summit, Pa., Board of Education and more recently was the director of the music ministry at St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison. She was a past member of the Thursday Morning Club in Madison. Vicky was also the co-founder (with her husband, Tony) of the T.J. Martell Foundation in New York City, N.Y. Vicky was predeceased by her son, T.J. Martell. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tony, and her loving daughter, Debbie Martell. Please omit flowers. Donations in Vicky's memory to the T.J.
