Obituary of Betty Jane Prudden

Betty Jane Prudden AGE: 85 • Betty Jane Prudden passed away peacefully at Brighton Gardens in Florham Park after a long illness on September 24, 2015 and a life filled with a devoted family, friends and much love. She was a lifelong Morristown area resident and only child of the late Foster and Hazel Taylor. Betty graduated from Morristown High School and Washington Secretarial School in Newark. She worked locally ending with her retirement from Township of Morris as Deputy Township Clerk at age 80 after 35 years of service. Betty was briefly married to William Prudden. Her parents lived with her and she continued to care for them until they passed. Her Morris Plains home was the center of the family for 63 years, filled with younger generations to whom she was a second mother, their friends and many loving pets who certainly met her at the Rainbow Bridge. She is survived by cousins, Dolores Kojak of Succasunna, Ed Jordan of Arizona, Dawn(Wally) Tyler of New Mexico, Bonnie(Douglas) Corriston of Newton, Patricia (Louis, Jordan, Alec, David, Shannon, Logan, Chael) Mondello of El Paso, Beth (Walt, Sean, Emily) Sturrock of Netcong, Tracy, (Ernie, Amanda,Christopher) Hofer of Florham Park, Diane Kojak (Aidan Sharpe) of Philadelphia, Daryl (Kate),Denise and Dawn Kojak of New York City, and Kim(Tom) Wasko of Freehold. A joint memorial service of happy reminiscences for Betty together with her beloved cousin, Michael James Holmes, will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street in Madison, NJ from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center at www.sthuberts.org.
