Elaine was born in Newark on May 7, 1943, to the late Christopher and Madeline Eramo. She grew up in Belleville with her sisters, moving to Belvidere after her retirement. Elaine was a bookkeeper and office worker for various companies throughout her life, ending her working career at Universal Truck Body in Randolph where she worked as the office manager for over 20 years.
Elaine was passionate about art, attending painting classes at her local community center until her passing. She loved to travel, having traversed through Europe to consume beautiful art as well as throughout the United States. She had special reverence for the Grand Canyon.
Though she did not have children of her own, she thought of her nieces and nephews as her own children and loved them dearly. Elaine’s family will fondly remember her as a fiercely independent woman with a wry sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life for Elaine will be held at a later date.
