Mary Lou and my grandmothers were sisters so we are cousins. Our families visited each other when we were children so many years ago. Mary Lou and I attended Goshen College at the same time. When she started taking flying lessons, she begged me to start too so that she would not be the only girl flying a little Piper Cub. I loved it and got my Solo license. Never went any further, but will always have wonderful memories. Our senior year was spent in a house off campus and we counted on each other like family. As we each got involved with our careers and family we were not connected as much. As we approached retirement we got back in contact. In 2015 Mary Lou and John visited us. I am so glad for that memory. We were in regular contact especially the last 3 years. In those years she never complained about things. When she was being sent home with hospice she emailed me and said good by. I will miss her so much. Amelia Shaub
