Obituary of Douglas W. Webb

Douglas William Webb, 64, a longtime Madison resident, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, in Short Hills.

Born on November 24, 1959 in Youngstown, Ohio, Douglas was a cherished member of his community and a loving figure among friends and family. Douglas graduated from Canfield High School (OH) in 1978 and furthered his education at Mount Union University, followed by Drew University for Graduate School. Throughout his life, Douglas held many different positions but most recently was the owner of Xoma Salon & Day Spa for the last seven years.

Douglas spent much of his life exploring. Traveling with his beloved husband Arnaldo and friends, finding God's beautiful works of nature and supporting the local businesses he'd discover along the way. Douglas was an extremely talented writer and had an unforgettable way with words. His love for words continued into his passion for reading, as he always had a book in hand. When Douglas wasn't out discovering the world around him, he was often cooking new recipes, listening to Cher & his favorite musical show-tunes, or finding a new television show to dive into.

Douglas was predeceased by his husband, Arnaldo Cruz; his parents, Nancy and Billy Webb; his brother, Wayne Webb; and his sister, Pamela Webb. He is survived by his sister, Alison Loree (Donnie); his nephew and godson, Spencer Saylor (Jayme); and his niece, Cassie Saylor. He also leaves a great nephew, Luca Saylor (Spencer).

A memorial service to spread Douglas's remains and celebrate his life will be held in the Spring. Details will be provided later by his immediate family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Douglas's honor can be made to the Matthew Shepard Foundation (https://www.matthewshepard.org).

Doug's legacy and the love he shared will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
