Obituary of Rhoda Frumkin
Rhoda Frumkin, a long time Madison resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at her home. She was 74.
Rhoda is survived by her brother Martin Markowitz and his wife Andrea Stern of Golden Valley, Minnesota; numerous cousins and many dear friends, including Harvey and Anne Nisselson, David and Carrie Goteiner, her dearest colleague Katia Gonzalez, and her beloved dog Henry.
She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Frumkin, who passed away in 2005.
Rhoda was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, earned her bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University and her doctoral degree from Rutgers University. She was a professor of education at Wagner College in Staten Island after her retirement from a meritorious career at the New York Board of Education as a teacher and supervisor of special education. She was a dedicated teacher, and an avid published writer.
Rhoda loved to cook and to travel.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service for Rhoda will be held at a later date and will be announced. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Madison Memorial Home.
