Obituary of Lorraine A. Jenwood

Lorraine Alberta Price Jenwood (née Price), a longtime Madison and Peapack resident, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Care One Assisted Living in Livingston. She was 88.

Lorraine was born in Madison on June 22, 1934, to the late Augustus and Lillian Price (née Thievon). She grew up in Green Village with her siblings and lived there until her marriage to her beloved husband, the late Robert “Bob” Jenwood in 1956 when the couple moved back to Madison.

Lorraine spent 20 years working for IBM as a computer programmer, which took her and her husband Bob to Manassas, Virginia where they lived until 1994. After her retirement, Lorraine and Bob settled in Peapack where they resided until Bob’s passing in 2021.

Bob and Lorraine had a loving marriage spanning 64 years. Though they never had children of their own, they were blessed with many nieces and nephews who became their surrogate children. Lorraine was especially close to her sister, Carol, who lived with her for many years and loved doing all sorts of activities with her. She liked going to casinos in Pennsylvania with her husband and she always came home with winnings. She and Bob also enjoyed traveling in their retirement to Florida, Niagra Falls, and of course down the Jersey Shore.

Lorraine was described as the life of the party. She had an incredible sense of humor and was always smiling and cracking jokes, even while battling dementia. Her family has many fond memories of her and takes comfort knowing that she is at peace.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her belove husband of 64 years, Robert Jenwood; her brother Gus Price; and her sisters Betty Herbert, Catherine DeGraw, and Gail Fernicola.

She is survived by her sister Carol Robinson, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Services for Lorraine are being held privately for her family under the care of the Madison Memorial Home.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Lorraine’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
