Cheryl V Flynn posted a condolence

Our family is better for having had John and Edie as close friends. Both are sorely missed. We were next-door neighbors for fifty years and formed a tight group with the Tobias's in our backyard on sunny days. The memory which stands out the most was the day he and Edie went ballooning with us in celebration of Brian's birthday. The wind came up and we sheared off tree tops with the basket in order to slow down and land. Once down on someone's ranch we had a riffle pointed at us were given orders to leave asap as we were scaring the horses. Up we went again only to crash land the basket on its side in someone's back yard. The pilot gave our bottle of champagne to the owners to pacify them. It was days later that John told us that he had burned his leg on the fuel tank.
John was always like a grandfather to our daughter Jennifer. She spent more time than she should have at their house playing board games. It was difficult to keep her away.
Tracy has been a wonderful daughter and has helped the family through the ups and downs of life. She has brought so much joy to her dad. He will remain in our hearts forever. The Flynn Family

Dear Tracy Scott and Families,
I’m so sorry to hear of Jack’s passing and for your loss. I’m going to miss Jack too!
Sharon, Brianne, Bailey and I would like to extend our deepest condolences.
I am grateful for getting to know all of you these past years. I truly enjoyed watching all of you on your daily walks with Jack coming down the street. I enjoyed all the conversations I had with Jack and learning about his background. I especially enjoyed hearing him talk about WWII, air shows, and his visit to Normandy France. I loved how Jack let Bailey (when she was a puppy) run up to him. And he would just pet her. When Bailey would see Jack and yourselves coming down the street, she would wag her tail and get super excited knowing her friends were going to stop for a visit on the front lawn. Such great memories!
Tracy and Scott, you both provided such loving care to Jack all these years. Your love, caring and kindness were always front and center!
I always found comfort in this Irish poem, and I hope it does the same for you:
“Those we love don’t go away.
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and still very dear!”
Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.
Respectfully,
Neighbor Dan
