Obituary of Nina Davydovna Kogan
Nina Davydovna Kogan, a longtime resident of Brooklyn, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the age of 90.
She is survived by her son, Alexander Kogan and his wife Yana of Florham Park; and her three cherished grandsons, Mark, David & Roman.
Nina was born in Moscow, Russia and lived there until relocating to Brooklyn in 2003 to be closed to her son Alex and his family.
Nina was a brilliant woman and earned her PhD in chemistry. Prior to her retirement, she had a long career as a chemist with the Russian national laboratories in Moscow for many years.
Nina loved living in New York City and quickly became active in the community in Brooklyn where she resided. She enjoyed sewing, theater, literature and regular trips to several New York art museums. Nina was also an excellent cook.
Her most proud role was that of mother and grandmother. She loved her family deeply, especially her three grandsons.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison followed by a 10:45 AM funeral service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
