Our Bereavement & Grief Support Program

So often families & individuals struggle following funeral services as the true impact and the reality of physical separation from their loved one sets in.

At Madison Memorial Home, we offer an ongoing aftercare program as a service, not just to families we have served, but to anyone who is struggling with the death of a loved one. This is a service we offer at no charge to all who would like to participate. The program includes two monthly meetings where those who have experienced the loss of a loved one come together to share their experiences, challenges and the opportunity to talk about living beyond the loss. Our aftercare program is facilitated by Jennifer Ellis Walters, a board-certified therapist & grief counselor from Madison with a tremendous amount of experience. For those experiencing more challenges than such a format provides, Jennifer is available at her office for private meetings.

We would love to have you join our continuing care program for as long or as short a time as you would like. Not only will you perhaps benefit from discussion with those who have gone through a loss, but you may also be very helpful to others as well.

Journey of Hope: A program supporting individuals through their personal grief journey.

Our group is designed to assist individuals that are mourning the loss of a loved one. This next group we are hosting will be held virtually via Zoom. We will focus on different aspects of the grieving process and you will have the opportunity to share and support one another. Our program is designed so that individuals can join the group at any time.

1st Annual Holiday Hope & Remembrance Ceremony 

Whether your loved one died recently or decades ago, the holidays can be especially difficult.

Our first annual Holiday Hope Program and Remembrance will be held at 5:00PM on December 2, 2021 at L'Allegria Restaurant in Madison.

Our goal is to give grieving families and individuals a framework to help them cope through the holiday season and also to commemorate their loved ones in a special way.

Getting through the holiday season is difficult for those in the midst of grief. The loss is felt most during this traditional time of celebration. We hope this special program, followed by a remembrance ceremony offers comfort to families and individuals during the holidays.

We want our community to know we continue to care about them and the loved ones they’ve lost during the year, as well as the grief they're experiencing.

This will be a wonderful event that helps those grieving the loss of their loved one, during a very emotional time of year. Everyone is kindly invited regardless if we have served your family. Complimentary refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
