Joseph and his brother, the late Patrick J. Micucci, owned Micucci Family Realty Holdings. Throughout their lives, the two brothers built and maintained homes. Joseph also enjoyed working outdoors, gardening at his home, and repairing small engines.

He was the last surviving sibling of seven brothers and sisters, the late Dominic Scala, Orsella Macchietto, Marie Kapusta, Gennaro Scala, James "Jake" Paul Micucci, Patrick "Pat" Joseph Micucci, and Baby Scala.
