Obituary of William E. Eutsler, Jr.

William Edward “Bill” Eutsler, Jr., a longtime Florham Park resident, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 24, 2023, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 77.

Bill was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina on August 12, 1946, to the late William Edward, Sr. and Ann Watson Eutsler. His career had him moving to multiple places throughout the south, but he always considered Cheraw, South Carolina his home. Bill graduated from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Bill met his beloved wife Barbara in 1979 on a blind date. The couple married on October 18, 1981, and settled in Florham Park. A man of great faith, Bill was an active parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison. He was involved in the funeral ministry, Thanksgiving and Christmas Outreach programs, and would give rides to the elderly parishioners.

Bill began a career with Burlington Industries as a trainee in HR and worked his way up the corporate ladder to retire as an HR manager for the merchandising headquarters in New York. He volunteered at the Florham Park library for over 20 years and enjoyed golf, freshwater fishing, hunting, and wintering in Florida with his wife, Barbara. He was also proud to discover that he had ancestors from the American Revolution.

Bill was a gentle, kind, and thoughtful man who went out of his way to put a smile on your face. He was an amazing husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend and he will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Jan Smith; and his father-in-law, Francis Cuccaro.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Barbara Eutsler (née Cuccaro); his mother-in-law Jessie Cuccaro; one niece, Stacy Hinton and her husband Jeff of Mt. Ulla, NC; one nephew, Greg Robinson of Cheraw, SC; five great-nieces Hazel, Janna, Sadie, Hattie, and Nellie; and many cousins and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation for Bill on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison.
