Obituary of Paul Fisher

Paul Fisher, a Chatham resident for 11 years, and originally from Cork, Ireland, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 26th, 2023 in Edison, NJ. He was 57 years old.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Ciara Sisk; his cherished sons, Eoghan and Cillian Fisher; his treasured daughter, Jessica Fisher; his devoted parents, Eamonn and Maureen Fisher; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his dearest younger sister, Sinéad Mac Criostail.

Paul was born in April 1966 in Brighton, England while his parents were both working there as nurses. The family moved to Limerick, Ireland when Paul was 3 years old and then to Cork, Ireland where Paul spent most of his life.

After graduating from college, Paul worked in London for a time before coming back home to Cork and meeting his future wife, Ciara. The couple went on to marry in 1999, and have their three beloved children in Ireland before moving to the United States in 2012. The family settled in Chatham and Paul and his family proudly obtained US citizenship in 2021.

Paul landed his dream job 9 years ago as a director of process architecture for Integrated Project Services (IPS), in Somerset, NJ. He loved his job and strived to be the best at what he did. His proudest achievement was being an amazing son, husband and father to his children.

Paul was an all-around athlete. He was an avid soccer and rugby player since his youth and was very proud to be in the over 50’s soccer team, Chatham Phoenix, with whom he played every Sunday. He also enjoyed golf and taught all three of his children how to play, and he enjoyed watching the Irish and Munster rugby teams, as well as coaching youth rugby at Cork Constitution F.C.

Paul favored the simple things in life and was very down-to-earth. He enjoyed going to the pub for a Guinness with friends and watching sports. He was a lover of music, and had such an influence on his family's music taste, taking them to concerts whenever he could. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Paul held on Monday, July 3rd, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, NJ. A celebration of life service will be held at 8:00 PM during the visiting hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to Chatham Athletics Boosters Club fundraising group:    https://m.facebook.com/groups/254260798302136/  https://checkout.square.site/merchant/V3XD9S7Z3N5DS/checkout/UOQOKH3SRELBS4FHOMZEFEFT?mibextid=Zxz2cZ
