Kenneth Thomas Forrester, a longtime Madison resident, died peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the age of 69. Ken was known for his generosity and compassion as a funeral director, and for being a wonderful father, husband, brother, uncle and friend. Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen Forrester (née Mannion); his daughter, Marybeth Forrester; one brother, John William Forrester and his wife Elizabeth; one sister, Margaret “Peggy” Forrester; three brother-in-laws, Matthew Mannion and his wife Ann Marie, John Paul Mannion and his wife Sheri Connell & Brendan Mannion and his wife Mary; his nephews, Ryan Forrester and his wife Tori, Alec Forrester and his wife Deidre, Matthew Forrester, Ryan Mannion, Brendan Patrick Mannion & Declan Mannion; his nieces, Krysta Mannion, Claire Mannion, Kaelie Mannion, Joan Mannion, Nora Mannion & Maeve Mannion; his great niece and nephew, Scarlet Forrester & Charles Forrester; and many dear friends and colleagues. He is predeceased by his parents, John Forrester and Margaret Mary Forrester (née O’Leary); his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joan and Michael M. Mannion; his uncle, John O’Leary and several other beloved uncles; and one brother-in-law, Michael Mannion, Jr. Ken was born in Bayonne, NJ on January 28, 1953 where he was raised with his sister and brother in a close-knit community where everyone knew each other. Ken went to St. Mary Star of the Sea Elementary School and graduated from Bayonne High School. He then went on to earn his bachelor's degree in business administration from St. John’s University. Following graduation, Ken found his calling in funeral service. He began his professional training at McLaughlin Funeral Home in Jersey City and obtained his degree in mortuary science from American Academy McAllister Institute in New York City. Ken became a well-rounded funeral director, performing all of his duties with the highest level of personal care and professionalism. He was compassionate and attentive to the needs of every family he served. Ken was a funeral director at the Jersey City firm for over 25 years before transitioning to Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston for the final 4 years of his career in funeral service. Ken was there to support and guide countless families during the most difficult times in life. Ken and his beloved wife Maureen were married on September 15, 2001 and lived on 25th Street and 3rd Avenue in Manhattan before settling in Madison where they raised their daughter. Ken’s most cherished title was that of father. He was tremendously proud of his daughter Marybeth and her accomplishments. Everything Ken did in life was for his family who he loved more than anything. Ken was a parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Dr. McDowell Council #2248 of Madison. In his retirement Ken became an entrepreneur and the owner of a Quiznos franchise. His next venture would be a children’s amusement center, Destination Jump in Whippany which he owned and operated until recently. He loved his new career and making others happy, especially the children. Ken loved to travel and always felt fortunate to travel throughout Europe with his sister in his younger years. He enjoyed vacationing in Long Beach Island every summer with his family, Jets and Mets games, and studying the stock market. Never at a loss for words, Ken would find the positive in pretty much any given situation or predicament. He had a smile that could light a room and was able to take pleasure in every moment of life. To know Ken was to love him and never forget what a good & caring person he was. He will be dearly missed by us all and made the world a better place. God gained another angel. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation for Ken on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM held at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. All are kindly invited to gather at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 11, 2022 prior to the Mass of Christian Burial that will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison. Those who wish to attend the Funeral Mass virtually can visit svmnj.org Interment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison Charitable contributions may be made in Ken’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.

Limitations of Liability. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MY TRIBUTE GIFT FOUNDATION OR ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS (THE "FOUNDATION PARTIES") BE LIABLE FOR ANY: (i) INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, COMPENSATORY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; (ii) DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF INCOME, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF DATA OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY; (iii) CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES; OR (iv) OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OF USE, THE WEBSITE OR ANY LINKED SITE. IN NO EVENT WILL THE CUMULATIVE LIABILITY OF THE FOUNDATION PARTIES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE WEB SITE EXCEED CDN $100. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
