All of us at TeleSearch Staffing are deeply saddened to learn of George's passing. We send our sincere condolences to the Tyree family. We had the honor of working with George during his "retirement" when he wanted to fill up winter "non-golf" months. Always a welcomed voice and warm smile. George was a class act, a true gem. RIP George, you were an angel here on earth.

Rip Tyree! I met you back in the 90’s working at GPU and you used to visit the micrographics dept on a daily basis to visit Michele, Amanda and I , and everyone else on the floor! You and I became and stay friends for years to come and you became a friend of my whole family! You were always happy and fun to be around! Sadly the last 10 years we fell out of touch ! But a few years ago I found you on FB! You were so blessed to have such a happy life and all will miss you!

It is with with a heavy heart to learn of the loss of a great friend and mentor, George. George had a special part in my life, mentoring me as a basketball official and presenting my cadet of the year award to me. His advice to stay humble and hungry, always show respect and to be professional will stay with me always.
Enjoying our conversations and time on and off the court are so appreciated, and now missed.

Words cannot even begin to express our sorrow.
I met George “Ty” about 18 years ago when I enrolled in the Cadet Basketball Referee Class after moving back to NJ from Hawaii.
Ty was my mentor on and off the court. He was patient, kind and a true gentlemen. We refereed many games together and had many laughs. He enjoyed attending our family events and chatting with my sisters whom he called “Jlo" and “Melo". There is a day that truly defines Ty’s character and overall persona. One day I called Ty at 2:30am in the morning as there was a BAT flying around in my house. Yes, Ty came right over and began to open all of the window’s in the house. He was calm, while my son who was 10 years-old at the time and I jumped out of our skin every time we heard a noise. We sat outside on the front steps and within minutes a Wildlife/Animal Control vehicle pulled up. Yes, Ty had called them on his way to my house. The BAT was finally removed from the house. Thereafter, Ty suggested we go out for coffee/donuts. Yes, at around 4am and so we did…We laughed about this day all the time!
Ty….my family and I will never forget you. I know your light will shine over us for years to come.
May you rest in peace. Forever in my heart.
(my son and Ty in a newspaper clip)

We will miss George "Shorty" Tyree. Funny story, George was refereeing our Son Dallas' HS game and one time Dallas thought a foul should have been called and he said, "Come on ref aren't we family" and George replied..."play ball!!!"George was one of the most caring people I know. He always saw the glass full. I will miss my surprise packages of Nabisco treats and his encouraging words for our boys. Rest in Paradise. To My Family...We Love You

I first met George in 1980 when I went to work at GPU. George was well liked and respected by everyone as a person who was always there to help. He was the "Go To Guy" if you needed something. We became fast friends, played together for several fun-filled years on the softball team, before moving onto the golf course where we played many rounds together. He developed a great enjoyment for the game, worked hard at it and became quite good. Always upbeat, full of fun, a joke or wisecrack whenever we crossed paths. When I last saw him in November at Flanders we reminisced about the "good old days" and shared some laughs. So many good memories over so many years.
He was a great guy, I will miss him, and never forget how fortunate I was to have known him.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Tyree family.

To The Family:
Liz, we have shared sad times and happy moments but we have come through trusting in our faith in God to sustain us. My prayers include a special Blessing asked for on the behalf of the Tyree family because God knows your pain which is here for a season because weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. Death is the door way to life eternal with The Christ. There is a Clock of life that runs out at appointed time.
The clock of life is wound but once and no man has the power, to tell just when the clock will stop at an early or late hour. Now is the only time we own, let us live, love and toil with a will, let us place no trust in tomorrow, for the clock may then be Still.
"Let us include God in our lives. For God so loved ❤ the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 31:16
We love you!

I met George about 40 years ago when I was waitressing at Harold’s Pub on rt. 10 in Randolph.
We stayed close all these years and I introduced him into the circle of my wonderful (club) friends.
Everyone immediately loved George and when he would walk into a party or restaurant we would yell his name and all our faces would kite up!
Many is the time when I would bake him a diabetic banana bread which he loved. We lived in the same apartment complex for a time before he moved to Village Green. He was kind, always a gentleman and would give you the shirt off his back and by the way it would never have a crease or wrinkle in it! He even cleaned the snow off my car a couple of times without me even asking.
George will be sorely missed and my condolences go out to his mom and siblings.
RIP great and gentle man my brother from another mother.

Working with George at Flanders Valley Golf Course was an absolute privilege. It's hard to recall a moment that he didn't have a smile on his face, helping to keep people around him happy and lighthearted. The jokes were endless and the memories that he created will last forever. George Tyree , was my 7th and 8th Grade basketball coach on Saturday mornings at Madison High School, I have known Shortie
as we called him for 53 years, I attended his last high school basketball game when he was a Senior , with 3 seconds left in the final high school game of his life , he took the ball in at half court on the sideline, he tossed it up from half court and at the buzzer it went in , the 3 point line wasn't even invented , the crowd went wild. I still remember that shot. I became an 8 th grade coach with George for 3 years after that. Friends ever since, he was in my Wedding , we played Sunday night hoops , and socialized , (County lIne INN !!!) Just another great person who put Madison on the map with all his good deeds in life . My Condolences to his entire Family and all his Friends. I will miss him as we all will , the Lord now Safely has him.
